Mentoring

Life Coaching

Mentoring is a professional activity, a trusted relationship, and a meaningful commitment. The origins of mentoring can be traced back to ancient Greece as a technique to impart to young men and women important social, spiritual, and personal values.

If you look at the different aspects of your life – about what’s really important to you, what do you see? Are you as happy or as satisfied as can be with all those areas, or do you feel like you’re stuck in one or more of them and want to be in a better place?  Are there difficult decisions and changes you need to make in your family life, relationships, career, or spiritual path? Do you need to increase your confidence or motivation to do things? Do you desire a more peaceful, stress-free and positive life?  Imagine working with your very own champion that supports you to achieve your life dreams and professional goals.

We understand that self-esteem reflects a person’s overall emotional evaluation of his or her own worth.  We understand that self esteem effects ones judgments and attitude towards one self.  Self-esteem encompasses our beliefs, reflecting if we feel competent or worthy and emotions such as triumph, despair, pride and shame.

Education provides us with knowledge about the world.  It paves the way for a good career.  It also, helps build character.  The understanding or the process or receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university is vital to a person’s fundamental survival in today’s world.  Optimal educational levels for people work to their advantage and often bridges the gaps not only for them but also for their generation that will follow them.

Understanding the complexities of how families are constructed in our modern day era, there has to be great attention and adaptation to this vastly changing institution.  We understand that “living together” takes great sacrifice, endurance and acceptance of all family members.  So much of who we are today has been shaped largely on how our family has raised us.  In our future as well, we will move and maneuver through life influenced greatly by our family.  We take an approach to dealing with the “family” dynamics of a person with great necessity.

There is much debate over the definition of a community.  We understand that a family could also be considered a community.  A strong community benefits the individual, the community as well as the greater community.  It is often that a person’s community has a tremendous impact on their lives.  When people or a group of people live in the same place or have particular characteristics in common it often lends to their personality, morals, culture and outlook on life.  A feeling of fellowship becomes very important to the growth of people.  No one wants to feel as though they are “apart” but a part of something.  We incorporate in-depth analysis of community to see how it can help or hurt our clients.

We support economic systems that allow for a person to provide a healthy and productive life style with consideration to their responsibilities.  We assist with job readiness skills and approaches to gain knowledge for occupational advancements.  Also, we support economic systems that allow “private business”.  Ownership is considered a kin to freedom.  Free enterprise allows freedom from constraints and demands that don’t fit in a client’s life or life style.  Starting and owning your own business is a movement that many feel has been the back bone to the economy.

Physical Health means keeping your body functioning at a high level. Regular exercise will maintain the performance of your lungs and heart to most efficiently burn off excess calories and keep your weight under control. Exercise will also improve muscle strength, increase joint flexibility and improve endurance.

Another main benefit of physical activity is that it decreases the risk of heart disease, the leading cause of death in America. Additionally, it can decrease your risk of stroke, colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure. Regular exercise has been long associated with a fewer visits to the doctor, hospitalization and medication.

Exercising does not have to be something boring and dreaded. It can be something that you enjoy that helps to increase the overall happiness in your life, as well as relieve symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety. Try to find some activities that give you pleasure, or even a buddy to do them with so that exercise is a fun and enjoyable activity (and one that you continue on a regular basis because it adds something good to your life)

Your mental health is very important. You will not have a healthy body if you don't also take care of your mind. People depend on you. It's important for you to take care of yourself so that you can do the important things in life — whether it's working, learning, taking care of your family, volunteering, enjoying the outdoors, or whatever is important to you.

Good mental health helps you enjoy life and cope with problems. It offers a feeling of well-being and inner strength. Just as you take care of your body by eating right and exercising, you can do things to protect your mental health. In fact, eating right and exercising can help maintain good mental health. You don't automatically have good mental health just because you don't have mental health illness. You have to work to keep your mind healthy.

Many spiritual traditions encourage participation in a community. Spiritual fellowship, such as attending church or a meditation group, can be sources of social support which may provide a sense of belonging, security, and community. Strong relationships have been proven to increase wellbeing and bolster life expectancy, which is perhaps why one study found a strong association between church attendance and improved health, mood, and wellbeing.
